Allowance for students: The Deutsche Geologische Gesellschaft
- Geologische Vereinigung e. V. (DGGV)
pays once a year students an allowance for attending the short course
if they are a member of the DGGV or if they join the DGGV while attending
the course. Students may apply for the allowance by sending a proof
of participation, a student ID, and the bank transfer information
to DGGV (Ms. Müller-Ruhe, info@dggv.de). * Similarly, the Deutsche Mineralogische Gesellschaft (DMG) supports students/PhD students which are member of DMG when attending the SPA short course. Registration for membership can be found here: https://www.dmg-home.org/service/publikationen/mitglied-werden/ The grant up to 100 € is supposed to be handed out in cash on the last day of the Short Course or transferred to bank account after the Course. For more details see https://www.dmg-home.org/aktuelles/doktorandenkurse * IAS Travel grants: The International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS) offers IAS Student Members a travel grant for attending our SPA-Short Course. Participants of SPA-Short Course first need to become a member of IAS. The application procedure is simple and requires submitting a short letter of motivation and proof of enrolment as a PhD student, together with some specific details about location and travel distance, affiliation, etc. Application details can be found on IAS homepage: https://www.sedimentologists.org/resources/grants/. Please note: The application deadline for an IAS travel grant is June 8, 2025! |
Please
note the maximum number of participants is limited to 25. We therefore
will select participants according to their date of registration.
After the deadline for registration we will inform the applicants
about their participation and give the bank data for payment of the
registration fee. Payment is then seen as official confirmation of
your participation in the short course. |
