1973-77 Vocational Secondary School of Geology (Tatabánya)

1978-83 Full time student of geology at Eötvös University, Budapest
1983 Diploma thesis: Argillitization and skarn formation in the magmatic dykes at Szár hill, Szabadbattyán, Hungary.

1983-86 Ph.D. student at the Department of Mineralogy and Petrology at the Technical University of Miskolc
1991 Dr. thesis (Geology): The fission track method and application in solving geochronological questions.

PROFESSIONAL:
1986- Research fellow at the Laboratory for Geochemical Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences

1991-92 Research fellowship at Inst. of Geology and Paleontology of Univ. Graz, Austria

1994-2000 Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Geology, University of Tübingen, working on the exhumation of the Alps and the provenance of Alpine-derived sediments in the frame of the project: "Climate-coupled processes"
